A 21 year old woman accused of killing Indian American store clerk Dahyabhai Kalidas Chaudhari in Northwest Georgia, was arrested, the Georgia investigation team reported.
Gavin Duffy, spokesman for the U.S. Marshals, revealed that Skyy Raven Marie Mims was arrested in Bartow County. Mims was charged with murder in Whitfield County jail.
Mims who hails from Detroit, is accused of killing the store employee on March 9. The investigators are still puzzled about why the aspiring model ended up at a Whitfield County gas station which is about four miles off I-75, on March 9.
“That’s what has us puzzled right now,” GBI Special Agent Greg Ramey said. “With this lady’s connections to Atlanta, why drive to Whitfield County, four miles off the interstate? Why pick that particular one? I have no idea. We’re sitting here scratching our heads, too.”
Shortly before midnight on March 9, Mims stabbed 37 year old Chaudary to death inside the Kanku’s Express on Airport Road in Dalton. She then left the store with cash and lottery tickets. Chaudary's body was found in pool of blood by a customer who immediately called 911.
“Right now, I’m lost. My mind is lost,” store owner Kanu Chaudhari told local news channel. “I cannot say anything. He’s always happy, smiling to customers, and he’s always smiling.”
Chaudary who is not related to the deceased, said that he was very popular with the customers. He said that man known as DK was quick to make new friends and was a warm person. “Everybody to him was his buddy. That man had the purest heart,” he added.
