Indian students shine at NASA's Design contest

Every now and then, Indians has made the country proud by doing extraordinary things globally. Almost, in every part of the world, Indians has proved themselves and exhibited Indian culture, technology and talent.
This time a young boy Chaitanya Vashistha from Pune, who is in the 7th standard in s Wadgaonsheri's St. Arnold Central school has made India feel great by claiming the first prize on offer at the NASA Space Settlement Design Contest 2014.
A few days back, NASA Space Settlement Design contest was held in which nearly 600 entries from across 18 countries of the students needed to be in the 12th standard or lower than that are gathered.
About 30 teams are sent from India for this competition and out of total prizes, Indian students are able to grab 12 prestigious 1st prizes, 22 second prize and claimed 15 3rd prizes, including artistic Merit and Literary Merit prize.
The performance of Indian students at international level contest is really applaudable and Indian young talent would really outshine in the coming time as it has gained about 50% of the total awards.
Not, just Chaitanya, but there are other students from the Pune who shone as well. He is not satisfied with his achievement at NASA and now looking to take part in the Google Science Fair.
His father Jitendra Vashishth stated, "It's a matter of great delight and brings a lot of pride to us as it was a competition organized by such an eminent and recognized research center NASA. Every school in India should have adequate provision for students to explore in such areas by promoting international events.”
Nalini Sengupta , principal of Vidya valley school said, "This space research has motivated the students to hope that some day they will go and settle and explore in the field of astronomy."
Well, space design has been one area where India had some level of interest and can do much more in this field. It is basically contributed to the extent of participation by schools from this South Asian country.
